Unusual: A man discovers 13 tombstones in your backyard

Jason Blackburn, a nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women in Memphis, was clearing a path leading to the yard of your dog when he dug a grave to 7 inches underground.

"My first reaction was, Oh my God, I hope there are no dead bodies in my backyard," Blackburn said the newspaper. "I mean that is the first reaction was when he was digging his backyard and you find gravestones"

Blackburn searched the Internet a name in one of the gravestones and determined it was related to the Memphis National Cemetery, a memorial park history dating back to the Civil War and is now run by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Raymond Miller, director of Memphis National Cemetery, said the time he disappeared the stones were in a period of four months in 1970. Are believed to be the decade of 1960. Though not the ancient tombstones, as they have been replaced.

"This is government property," Miller told msnbc.com.

What is not known exactly is how he ended up in someone's backyard. The oldest gravestones are usually destroyed after being replaced.

  2. That fear. It is not normal find headstones in your garden. That good, that these tombstones were empty, otherwise the man would have been a terrible fright.
